21. september kommer den internasjonale filmfestivalen Banff Mountain Film Festival til Norge, og viser filmer i Edderkoppen teater. De siste 8 årene har festivalen hver høst turnert med et utvalg av filmer fra den internasjonale filmfestivalen i Banff kanadiske Canada.
Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour kommer til Norge i høst og tilbyr en helaften med inspirerende, provoserende og pirrende fortellinger fra fjellet på filmduken. Om du er en erfaren alpinist, sofaeventyrer eller filmelsker så finns det noe for alle.
Den velkjente og prestisjefylte fjellfilmfestivalen har siden 1976 blitt holdt i Banff, vest i Canada i november hvert år. Over 300 bidrag av filmskapere fra 34 ulike land deltok i fjorårets filmkonkurranse. Et utvalg av filmene vises på den etterfølgende turneen som besøker 280 steder i over 37 land.

In 2006, Dominic Gill set out from the northern coast of Alaska with a tandem bike, a camera, and a heavy trailer. The destination was the southernmost tip of South America, but the goal was to find strangers to help peddle the 220lb bike. This special edit for the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Signatures: Canvas of Snow, features skiers, snowboarders, a photographer and a noboarder—each in tune with this connection to winter and the environment they ride in.
A few years ago, Roz Savage gave up what for many would be an ideal life (husband, great job, big house); picked up a few pairs of rowing oars and a boat to go with them and set off across the Atlantic Ocean alone in a rowboat. Rowing the Atlantic is the story of Roz’s transformation from an ordinary woman to a hardened adventurer.
